Nathan and I packed our lunches and drove off to the conservatory, except I didn’t know we were going to the conservatory. Nathan likes to keep things a surprise and I kind of like that, too.
It really could not have been more pleasant: seventy-five degrees, gorgeous sunshine, and just a slight breeze.
We got out of the car and almost instantaneously I started taking photos of the flowers and plants with my phone. I apologized to Nathan for the photo pauses but explained that they’re just so beautiful.
“You know, that’s why I wanted to come here—so you could take pictures of the flowers,” Nathan said and smiled at me.
